
Olga Kennedy
The family sadly announces the passing of Olga Kennedy (nee Panic) at Mariposa Gardens Retirement and Care Community in Osoyoos, B.C. on December 10, 2021 after a lengthy illness at the age of 84.
Born in Cepin, Croatia, Olga came to Canada in January of 1956 where she became a Canadian citizen. She married Rudy Hoefler and lived in Grand Prairie, Alberta. She worked at Grand Prairie Hospital in the kitchen. She later moved to Dawson Creek where she met Solo Kennedy. They moved to Rock Creek where she worked in a restaurant as a cook. When Solo became ill, they moved to Osoyoos. After his passing she moved to Oliver where she made several good friends. She and her dear friend Eileen would walk to A&W almost every morning for coffee. Her love of gardening showed in her beautiful roses and other flowers she attended with great care. The deer especially enjoyed her vegetable garden.
She was predeceased by her parents Petar and Milica Panic, brother Louis Panich (May), her sister Jovanka, her husband’s Rudy and Solo.
Olga is survived by her son Peter Hoefler (Debbie), daughter Vera Colvin, granddaughters Christa Poulin and April Kulchiski (Mike), great grandchildren Ethen and Mackenzie Kulchiski and several nieces and nephews.
In Olga’s memory donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of British Columbia.
Cremation is under the care of Nunes-Pottinger Funeral Service & Crematorium Ltd. 5855 Hemlock St., Oliver, BC. No service will be held at this time.
