
William “Bill” Joseph Nelson
Bill was born in Prongua, Saskatchewan to John and Margaret Nelson and passed away in Oliver, BC at the age of 87.
Bill was a father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend. He is survived by his two sons, Jordan (Brenda), Neil (Melitta); grandchildren; Christina, Joshua, Mitchell and Bradley, great grandchildren; Kaelyn and Alexander and sister; Joan Charles.
Bill grew up in Saskatchewan then moved to BC where he resided in Fort Nelson, Creston, Cranbrook and finally settling down in Oliver where he resided for over 35 years.
Bill always had a love for running heavy equipment which started when he was young working with his father. From there he joined the Operating Engineers Union in 1965, where he would go on to work on many pipelines and countless road building jobs including the Alaska Hwy. While living in Oliver Bill became a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, enjoying sharing his faith and creating long lasting friendships.
