Thomas C. Wiebe

September 12, 1947 – June 29, 2021

It is with great sadness

that our family announces

the sudden passing of

Tom Wiebe on June 29,

2021, at the age of 73.

In his own words, upon

contemplating his many

“close calls”, he often said

“In God’s timing, He’ll

bring me home”.

Tom was born in Saskatoon

on September 12,

1947 to parents David

K. Wiebe and Helena (Reddekopp) Wiebe, and had

12 siblings. After almost two decades of running

the family’s “Silver Bucket” dairy farm and raising

a family near Osler, he moved to B.C. in 1990 – residing

in Kelowna, Penticton and ultimately Oliver.

Later in life he went to college and retrained as a

long-term care aid.

Tom loved visits with his family & making memories,

telling a good story, belly-laughing until he

cried, teaching his grandkids how to play crib, homecooked

meals & leftovers and had a unique ability to

strike up a conversation with anyone. His family are

especially grateful for the day-to-day friendship of

his A&W coffee friends & neighbors, to whom he

was affectionately known as “just a really nice guy” –

he will be sincerely & lovingly missed by many.

Tom was predeceased by his parents and siblings

Dave & Linda. He is survived by his sons Trevis

(Jenn) and Jeff (Karen); grandchildren Claire, Jacob,

Matt & Adam; his twin sister Martha and siblings

Eva, Hank, John, Jerry, Jim, Jake, Susan, Louis &

Carol; numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws.

Family and friends will be invited to join the Wiebe

family at a later date for a memorial service & celebration

of life. Family members will be scattering

Tom’s ashes in a private ceremony. In lieu of flowers,

please consider donating to the Kiwanis Club of Oliver

(www.oliverkiwanis.org) in Tom’s name.

“I’ll fly away, oh glory, I’ll fly away

When I die, Hallelujah, by and by

I’ll fly away” – Albert E. Brumley
