Richardson, 84 passed
away peacefully on
April 11, 2021 in
Oliver, B.C. She was
born in Trois-Rivieres
on September 4,
1936. Denise worked
as a supervisor at
the Surrey Taxation
Centre for many years.
She moved to Oliver
in 1981 to own and
operate a fruit orchard farm. Denise also worked
full time at a group home caring for adults with
Down Syndrome. She enjoyed being a member
of the Red Hat Society.
Denise spent her free time volunteering at the
Oliver Hospital Thrift Shop. She donated many
blankets and dish clothes that she hand knit and
put into care baskets. She was passionate about
cooking, reading, playing bingo and spending
time with family. Denise loved to go on ocean
cruises and some of her favourite travels were to
Alaska, Mediterranean and Hawaii.
Denise is predeceased by her parents, Simone
Melenchon and Omar Lanneville and by her
husband, Roy Richardson. She is survived by her
sisters Marielle and Pierrette, her three children,
Nathalie, Rene and Steve; her four grandchildren,
Crystal, Carryanne, Kaitlin and Jenna as well as
seven great-grandchildren.
A private Catholic Memorial Mass will be held
in her memory at St Francis de Sales Church
in Burnaby. A private family Ash Scattering
Ceremony in Oliver is being held on Thursday
April 15, 2021.
